Electrolytes with carbs, or without?
For sessions under an hour, plain water or a low-carb electrolyte is usually enough. Once you're going longer than an hour, most athletes need carbohydrate as well as sodium, which is what CORE is built for: 85 g of carbohydrate and 980 mg of sodium in one serve.
HYDRAX doesn't make a zero-carb electrolyte tablet. If you mostly need sodium for short sessions, a simple electrolyte tablet does the job.
How much sodium do you need?
It varies a lot between athletes, from a few hundred to well over 1,000 mg per hour in the heat. The best starting point is your own sweat rate, which you can measure in one session with our free sweat rate calculator.
